Noemie Bessette, Certified Executive Coach

NOEMIE BESSETTE WAS A MARKETING PROFESSIONAL, LOOKING FOR SOMETHING DEEPER; ANOTHER TASK THAT WOULD CHALLENGE HER PERSONALLY, AS WELL AS PROFESSIONALLY.

With one post-secondary degree and several other certifications, Noemie was already familiar with the world of education when she started looking at Royal Roads. She had also been working full-time on both the client and agency side of the marketing and advertising industry for years, and it was during this time that she had the opportunity to work with a coach – an experience she found so interesting, she decided to pursue it for herself.

“Coaching does good in the world, and it helps me balance the marketing side of my life.”

At first, Noemie attended a coaching institute, but quickly realized that, while the school was recognized in the world of coaching, it wasn’t well-known in her industry. Knowing that she eventually wanted to create a bridge between the worlds of coaching and business, she decided to look elsewhere. That’s when she found the Executive Coaching program at Royal Roads University.

“I was looking for a school whose name I could bring up in conversation that people would know and respect, as well as a program that was more robust and thorough.”

Her next step was reaching out to faculty members, who then put her in touch with alumni. For Noemie, this made all the difference. When talking with various alumni, their professionalism, experience, and success inspired her.

“I wanted to find solid credentials, people who have been coaching for years. These people had their own businesses, they had real clients and were leaders in the industry.”

As Noemie’s goal was to add more value to her current work life, rather than change directions, she needed a program that would work around her already demanding career and active lifestyle. That’s when she discovered the blended learning model at Royal Roads, which combines online courses with two short on-site residencies.

“I didn’t see value in quitting my job, so I needed a program that could work… while I work.”

Since graduating from the Executive Coaching program, Noemie maintains that we should all push ourselves to continue to grow, professionally and personally, we just have to be organized and remember that balance can never be compromised – something else she learned while going to Royal Roads.
